THE STORY

Some places make it easier to disappear. Others make it impossible.

Elyna comes to a small island expecting distance, routine, and very little else. Mateo has spent years keeping his world deliberately small. Their paths begin crossing in ordinary places—at the bar, through work, along familiar streets. What starts as curiosity slowly unsettles the lives they have both learned to accept.

THE CHARACTERS

Elyna & Mateo

Two people who arrive at the same quiet place from opposite directions. Elyna is trying to step outside the life she left behind; Mateo has made an art of staying exactly where he is. Neither expects the other to disturb that balance.

ELYNA

A woman who comes to the island looking for distance from the life she left behind, only to find stillness harder to hide inside than she expected.

Restless, observant, and quick to reach toward what interests her, she keeps moving even when she isn't sure what she's moving toward.

MATEO

A man who has built his days around routine, useful work, and the familiar edges of an island he knows by heart.

Quiet, precise, and difficult to reach, he fixes what can be repaired and leaves everything else carefully untouched.

AT ITS HEART

What do we do with the parts of life that never quite end?

Unfinished Things explores grief, avoidance, belonging, and the intimacy of being seen when you have grown comfortable remaining untouched. Elyna and Mateo are not looking for transformation. Change arrives quietly, through routine, proximity, and the realization that a familiar life is not necessarily a fulfilling one.
